Paper beats Tablet
PaperTab, a revolutionary paper tablet as thin and flexible as paper.
The PaperTab, a high-resolution plastic display PC prototype, was unveiled on at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in Las Vegas.

A new concept device developed by Intel, Queen’s University from Canada and the British firm Plastic Logic, it caused a stir on the first day of the week-long conference with an interactive, 10.7in plastic display that its makers called revolutionary. The team behind the PaperTab said their goal was to emulate the feel of paper with a robust, lightweight product that could bend and be dropped on a desk.

Users will be able flick through a document by bending the screen, or by joining screens together for a larger display. Each PaperTab will also be aware of other PaperTabs nearby, helping users keep track. Email can be sent by placing the device in an out tray or by bending the top corner of the display. The PaperTab can also store thousands of documents – obviating, its developers say, the need for stacks of paper or a traditional computer monitor.

Magic touches Gaudi’s buildings
The Awakening of the Casa Batllo. Antoni Gaudi, Barcelona
A surprising show that explains a magical story, the story of a building admired around the world, Casa Batllo.
It was built by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí between 1904 and 1906, by order of a textile businessman, Mr. Josep Batllo.
To make the facade Gaudí was inspired by the legend of St. George and the Dragon, and to the inside, by the sea. But the imagination of the locals went further, in addition to the back of a dragon and the sea, they saw bones, yawning mouths, harlequins, flying bats and flowering ponds as the lily of Monet.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the public opening of the Casa Batllo, this show is a very special gift for all visitors and admirers of this building designed by Gaudí, a world heritage site by UNESCO. An invitation to dream of Casa Batllo and discover all the possible interpretations of their dreamlike shapes.

There’s also an online Pinterest board where consumers can create their own board with the theme “Escape Everyday” to win items featured on the physical one.

Live in 5 seconds
stories for those with no time

In our jet-fuelled, caffeine-induced, celebrity-a-minute world, who actually has the time to learn a thing or two?
C’mon, let’s face it, life’s too bloody short.
What you need is instant knowledge.
Life in Five Seconds takes 200 world events, inventions, great lives, places, animals and cultural icons that you really need to know about, and then, hey presto!, cuts away all the useless details.
The Last Supper, Lady Gaga, the moon landings, the Mona Lisa, the invention of electricity, Ikea, the Berlin Wall, celebrity chefs and everything in-between. This is the perfect gift for anyone with a sense of humour … and a short attention span.

The Winter Wake Up
Never be caught off guard by winter again
Winter Wake-Up is an app that functions as a standard alarm clock, but (by connecting to online weather forecasts) wakes users earlier than usual if there has been unexpected snow or icy conditions during the night. That way, they have plenty of time to clear the driveway, defrost the car and still leave for work on time.
Users can choose not to be woken at all if extreme conditions make their commute hopeless.

Ideogenetic Machine
Ideogenetic Machine is an interactive application that incorporates portraits of participants into an algorithmically generated comic book.
